Do you know Antarctica? The driest, highest, coldest and windiest continent on earth. Antarctica has the lowest temperatures ever –129.
There are all different temperatures everyday but the average temperatures is –49. In Antarctica it is constantly daylight in summer for seval weeks. In winter it is constantly darkness for sevarl weeks. The warmest temperature ever is –49.
If you wear clothes you are wearing right now everyday at Antarctica you will freeze. It’s cold because when the ice melts the cold air goes in the sky and then we feel it on our bodies. The highest wind sped ever in Antarctica is 5 metres per second.
The icebergs in Antarctica melt by global warming. Icebergs are blocks of water that have fallen off glaciers and have formed into icebergs. Icebergs are very dangerous for ships because the ship will beak because they are so strong.
The colours of icebergs are pink, green, white and blue. Some icebergs live on land and a lot live in water. Big icebergs are over 1 million tons. Icebergs are the 2nd biggest ice in Antarctica the biggest is a glacier.
The ice in Antarctica shrink by 13%. The ice melts and then refreezes. There are no plants on top of the ice. There is one plant that lives under the snow and the plant is phytoplankton. Antarctica is a desert because it receives very little rain.
You can visit Antarctica but it will very cold. Antarctica will be too cold for you and your family you can freeze. So your home is the best place for you and you family.

history of Antarctica
Over 100 years people have been studding Antarctica. Many people explored Antarctic Circle of Antarctica. Some
People discovered the islands that sorawded Antarctica.
Exploration began in 1699 the first person to study Antarctica was a scientist. The first person to go to Antarctica and make a TV revue was explorer Halley she went to explore the top of Antarctica and came back with not much information all she saw was ice.
In 1767 Alexander made an account on the discovers of Antarctica. Captain cook searched for Antarctica after World War 1. Captain cook discovered the Arctic Circle in 1770. James Clark Ross led a British explosion on the Ross Sea of Antarctica. In 1904 anbram planned an explosion to search for the South Pole in secret. Anbram feed all his man seeded bread for a diet. Andrams man scott and willam died because of a blizzard in their tents. cook discovered the first ice berg.
After andram finished his exporsion cook saild thither south than anybody ever went. Cook then went to the southern end of the sandwich island. Cook then went to look for baggers creek and found it. De la reached discovered the gorge islands. James Clark Ross discovered the Northwest Passage. Frank wild discovered the only volcano in Antarctica mt eras.
Research on Antarctica is still proceeding. There is much more to discover on Antarctica.

ANIMALS
Adelie penguins
Adelie like to hang out near the Antarctic Peninsula. These are the types of penguins that steal pebbles from their neighbors to build nests. They can dive depths up to 1800 meters.
They feed on krill and fish they breed in October through to February. The couples take turns in protecting the eggs for a month or 5 weeks.
Every year millions of breeding couples return to their nesting grounds called a rooky. They may travel 1000’s of km over the ice to get there.
They are very friendly animals they can get used to all animals including humans. But still hate enemies.
They have black heads and chins. They have a pure white stomach and white lidded eyes. They have long stiff tales they use these to prop them self up so they can doze of to sleep while standing up.
They are 5 kilograms and 70 cm high. penguins have a compact body shape to keep body warmth.
